A predator among predators, the tiger is a powerful and magnificent creature. They travel alone and have pay no allegiance to anyone. They are brutal killers, and yet they are excellent caregivers for their cubs. The tiger, a member of the Felicia family, is the largest of the four big cats in the genus Panther. Native to much of eastern and southern Asia, they are indigenous to some of the more densely populated places on earth, which has caused significant conflicts with humans. Three of the nine subspecies of modern tiger have gone extinct, and the remaining six are classified as endangered. Some people compare the behaviors of tigers to that of humans. People can relate to the tiger, as it is fierce and commanding on the outside, but noble and discerning on the inside.
